Las Vegas, the city in Western America that never sleeps, is renowned for its stunning architecture, lavish entertainment, massive casinos, and luxurious hotels under thousands of sparkling lights.
This city in the state of Nevada is particularly famous for its massive casinos and theme hotels along the so-called “Strip” of Las Vegas. This refers to a section of the long street “Las Vegas Boulevard,” where these hotels are located side by side. Each hotel is enormous and offers plenty of entertainment, such as large casinos and performances by world-renowned artists like pop stars, magicians, comedians, and DJs. Las Vegas is situated in the middle of the desert, and you can feel it. Fortunately, most activities happen in the evening and inside air-conditioned hotels.
Staying in a Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip
Definitely stay in one of the themed hotels on the Strip. The rooms are not expensive since Las Vegas makes its money from the casinos. There are even times when you can stay for free in the famous hotels of Las Vegas! Stay for about three nights in Las Vegas so you have enough time to explore this city.
Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel & Casino
This hotel is located in the middle of the famous Strip, less than 5 kilometers from the airport. The hotel offers a pool, spa, and two casinos with 1600 slot machines. We found the casino to be huge, and it’s not even the largest in Las Vegas. There are various restaurants and activities such as stand-up comedy. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The hotel is rated a solid 7, and the location a 9! You can stay here in a double room for as low as €77 per night. The location is ideal; from the middle of the Strip, you can walk to various attractions in the evening. You’re right in the thick of things!
Prefer not to stay on the Strip? Choose the Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino
The Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino is located in the heart of downtown Las Vegas, 15 kilometers from the airport, 5 kilometers from the Strip, and 400 meters from the famous Fremont Street. After the Strip, this is the most famous street in Las Vegas and the street where Las Vegas originally began. The hotel offers a casino, dining options, and a pool. The hotel scores an 8, and you pay €86 for a night during the high season.
Note: Almost every hotel on the Strip in Las Vegas charges a resort fee upon check-in or check-out. This is an additional charge per room that is not included in the room price and can amount to dozens of dollars per night. Always check how much the resort fee is before booking a room to calculate your final price. The resort fee is purely a way for hotels to easily generate additional income. In return for paying this fee, you can use certain services offered by the hotel, such as Wi-Fi or the room phone. Some hotels offer a discount if you can prove with a casino card that you’ve gambled a significant amount.
